Joel Fisk

Born in 1986, Joel first picked up the guitar at the age of 4. Influenced by the likes of Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Doyle Bramhall II, yet adding his own unique twist to the genre, has led Joel to be described as "a remarkable player; as well as having great chops, he knows absolutely everything".

Learning every step of the way, Joel spent his teenage years soaking up the music of Blues legends such as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and B.B. King.

In 2008, Joel formed alt-blues-roots band, Hokie Joint, with singer JoJo Burgess. Their debut album, “The Way It Goes…Sometimes” saw them sign to Dutch record label CoolBuzz, and embark on many tours across Europe, including The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Czech Republic and Luxembourg. Highlights included Cognac “Blues Passion” Festival (FR) with ZZ Top, Jamie Cullum and Moby, Peer Festival (BE) with Steve Winwood and Jeff Beck, and a session for BBC Radio 2 at the famous Maida Vale studios. This was broadcast to millions across the world. The band also reached the top 10 of the Amazon Blues and Indie charts in 2011 with their second album, “The Music Starts To Play”.

During his time with Hokie Joint, Joel was awarded "Favourite Guitarist" in 2010's UK Digital Blues Awards, as well as being nominated two years consecutively as “Guitarist Of The Year” in the prestigious British Blues Awards.

Whilst working with Hokie Joint, Joel also kept to his roots playing with Tim Aves’ Wolfpack – a Howlin’ Wolf-influence band from deepest, darkest Essex.

Hokie Joint disbanded in 2013, and almost immediately Joel formed alt-Country band “LaVendore Rogue” with Hokie Joint companions JoJo Burgess and Stephen Cutmore. The band released their first single “Gangsters, Thieves & Villains” in September 2013, in support of their debut EP, “What’s the Meaning of…” which is available on iTunes and Amazon. Experimenting with different genres, with the emphasis strongly on song writing, the band will be gigging hard and often, with a full album scheduled for released in 2014.
