Jamie Taylor

Jazz guitarist Jamie Taylor has performed professionally throughout the UK and overseas, working with leading contemporary artists like Jamil Sheriff, Tom Harrison, Adrian Ingram, Gary Potter, Dave Walsh, Tori Freestone, Jim Mullen, Carlos Lopez-Real, and Alan Barnes.

Jamie is Principal Lecturer in jazz guitar at Leeds College of Music (the UK's largest conservatoire) and electric guitar advisor/clinician for Yorkshire Young Musicians. Having taught jazz exclusively at degree level for over ten years, Jamie is now one the country’s most experienced tutors in the idiom, and many of his former students have now gone on to successful careers of their own; some of these include members of Roller Trio, Bryan Ferry Orchestra, Led Bib, Submotion Orchestra, and Everything Everything.

Thanks to the possibilities of the internet, Jamie now has students all over the world. He is a featured “master” on the internationally respected website Mike’s Masterclasses, where other masters include Lorne Lofsky, Paul Bollenbeck, Sheryl Bailey, John Stowell, and Steve Herberman amongst others. Jamie's playing has been featured on a number of critically acclaimed recordings, including releases on the jazz labels Candid and GLP.
